Scenes from a Repatriation
Joel Tan’s sold-out debut at the Royal Court Theatre centres around a fictional bodhisattva statue in the British museum; Unfolding across the statue’s journey from China to Britain and back again, the play questions who can claim cultural artefacts – and why. The model box for this production design was featured at an exhibition as part of the London Design Festival in 2025.
Constellations
Nick Payne’s popular multiverse two-hander blending rom-com, quantum physics, and euthanasia is widely staged across the world. Here it was programmed by the historically significant Stephen Joseph Theatre, the UK’s first purpose-built theatre in-the-round. The distinctive set design for the production was featured across various theatre and local news sites.
An Adventure
An epic love story inspired by the playwright’s grandparents' lives as twice-migrants, the play traces a couple’s life across India, east-Africa, and the UK. The production design was a co-commission between the Octagon Theatre Bolton and the Linbury Prize for Stage Design (2019) and also won the Stage Debut Awards (2022) for Best Designer.
Ballad Lines
A powerful folk musical following three women across three centuries as they confront the stories they inherit and the choices that shape them. Blending Scottish, Irish and Appalachian influences, it’s a soaring tale of family, identity and legacy. This musical premiered in London after an initial run in Scotland.
