G*d is a Woman

G*d us a Woman is a scathing satire on censorship, complaint culture, and the ridiculous outbursts of moral outrage that frequently reverberate across the Singaporean internet.

We started with an interest in representing censorship, OB markers, and the ways voices jostle for limited civic space within the parameters of social harmony in Singapore. This led to an initial design around dots and circles covering the whole of the theatre.

Three weeks before rehearsals, Ivan (Director) felt this wasn’t the right design for the play. Upon rigorous interrogation and discussion, we realised the events of the play was what many would call a shitshow.
